My Classroom

    The distribution of my classroom is a very important feature to bear in mind when we teach English. The physical aspects such as light, ventilation, furniture or seating arrangement are elements which favour the type of methodology we will use facilitating eye-contact and control of the class by the teacher. About the seating arrangement, we will organize some rows of desks in pairs. This seating arrangement will allow for students interaction in all kind of pair-work activities like role-plays or dialogues). We can organize the class for group-work turning back the desks. Of course, whole-class and individual work is possible with this arrangement. In the next picture we could observe a model of how my classroom would be.

    In addition, a recycling place is set up within the classroom to raise awareness of the importance of separating the rubbish in the different rubbish bins. An English corner is presented where we can use to review and learn different aspects of the subject. We can observe wallcharts, routines to carry out at the beginning of each lesson, or any visual material which can be of help to use English by kids like greeting, rules or the basic questions as formulaic language.
